The Bare Root Cellar is Open for Business

What exactly does bare root mean?

Well, the short answer is exactly as it sounds: bare root plants. We ship in trees, shrubs and fruit plants that have exposed roots; they have no dirt surrounding them.

	Now you're probably wondering, "Why?"

For many, our unique bare root cellar has become an annual tradition. These dormant plants are only available for a limited time until they're potted up and sold. Because they are exclusive, easy to sustain, and more convenient, they have become a desired commodity each year.

If you still aren't sold on bare root, here are some other benefits:

Bare root plants are cheaper than their potted counterparts

They make for easier transportation, as they are lighter and more compact than potted plants

Because the roots are left intact, bare root plants are less prone to suffer from transplant shock

Our bare root cellar is open at the beginning of April, and is fully stocked within the first two weeks. The bare root season is short-lived; the cellar will be cleared out and closed at the beginning of May.

Our cellar is stocked with a variety of plants, from Maple and Willow trees to Hydrangeas and Siberian Peashrubs.

Talk to our expert nursery staff today and find the perfect tree to complement your outdoor living area.
