CONSULTATION PROCESS
After submitting your project request, a member of our design team will reach out to schedule an on-site appointment with one of our landscape designers. During the visit, the designer will walk your property with you to discuss your goals and ideas for the space. They may take photos, measurements, and notes to better understand the scope of your project. If elevation or drainage is a concern, specialized equipment may be used to assess grade changes as well.
During the consultation, your designer will also learn more about your vision, ideal timeline, and budget so we can provide thoughtful recommendations tailored to your needs.
Our initial consultation fee is $100 + tax and is collected when your appointment is scheduled with our design coordinator. If you choose LGC to complete your project, this fee will be applied toward your project total.
If you’ve worked with our design team before, please let us know—returning clients may have different consultation options available.
Out-of-Town Requests: If you live outside of the Sioux Falls/Tea/Harrisburg region, we will schedule an initial phone conversation with one of our landscape designers to discuss your project in more detail before scheduling a site visit. If you can send photos of the landscaping areas in question to design@landscapegardencenters.com in advance, that would help our designers to better answer your questions regarding ideas and pricing.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Your appointments are very important to the design team. We understand that schedule adjustments are necessary and life happens, therefore, we respectfully request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
24 hour Appointment Changes, Cancellations or No-Shows (missed appointments)
A 24-hour notice of any change or cancellation is required in order to receive a refund of the consultation fee.
Please call us at 605-338-0706 to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
If our design team unexpectedly needs to cancel the appointment, we are happy to provide you with a full refund.

If you’re planning a DIY planting project at home, we’re happy to help! Stop in anytime during our retail hours to get guidance from our nursery team on plant selection and care.
If you’d like more personalized help with design and implementation, our DIY design specialist, Joy Blacketer, is available by appointment at our garden center. During your consult, she’ll spend up to 30 minutes reviewing photos and sketches of your space and offering ideas for layout and plant selection, followed by a 15-minute guided walk through the nursery to view recommended plants.
